At the end of the language club course

When learners have completed the course including their initial assessment and progress checks, they will receive a WELCOME certificate of participation.

Most will want and need to continue to practise their language skills, so provide them with information about further learning in local colleges and voluntary organisations etc. A quick Google should keep you and them up to date with local opportunities.

Other support

Your role, of course, is not to provide counselling or any other support than with language learning.

So you may also want to build a small library of other local resources you can refer learners to when necessary. For example:

• Local health services
• Housing service
• Welfare and benefits services
• Citizens advice bureau
• Specialist organisations working with migrants and refugees (and see the ‘other resources page on this website).
